Live in the UK (4 Tests)

Applicants looking to join family, extend a stay or apply for citizenship in the UK may need to take a 2-skills (Speaking & Listening) LANGUAGECERT SELT exam to prove their English language proficiency as part of their Leave to Remain or British citizenship visa application. All LANGUAGECERT SELT exams are delivered through our global network of SELT Centres.

Work in the UK (7 Tests) 

Applicants offered a job in the UK may need to take a 2-skills (Speaking & Listening) or 4-skills (Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking) LANGUAGECERT SELT exam to prove their English language proficiency as part of their work visa application. Please refer to our immigration team for the correct test type. 

Study in the UK (2 Tests) 

You can use LANGUAGECERT Academic or LANGUAGECERT ESOL as part of your UK Student visa application, if you are going to study a course at degree level or above, at a Higher Education Institution (HEI) that is a UKVI ‘Licensed Sponsor’.

If you are planning to take a foundation, pathway or other below degree-level course, or you plan to study at an institution that is not a Higher Education Institution (HEI), you may need to take a Secure English Language Test (SELT), in which case you can use LANGUAGECERT Academic SELT or LANGUAGECERT ESOL SELT to support your visa application.
