Tired of limited immigrtion pathways and opportunities?

ZED Global Consultants presents a clear pathway for skilled Pakistanis to build a professional future in Germany !

Here is a comparison of the main options for applicants looking to work in Europe/Schengen.

Pathway & Country How It Works / Key Feature Requirements Summary (For Applicant)

3. Proof of funds (e.g., blocked account with ~€1,091/month).
4. Basic language (German A1 or English B2 for points option).
🇵🇱 Poland – Work Visa ❌ Job offer required first. Your future employer in Poland must apply for your work permit before you can apply for the visa. There are many issues in securing the appointment at the Poland Embassy causing uncertainity and delays. 1. A formal job offer and an employer-sponsored work permit.
2. Standard documents: passport, insurance, proof of funds, accommodation.
3. Appointment via official Polish e-konsulat system.
🇷🇴 Romania – Work Visa ❌ Job offer required first. The employer obtains a work permit, then you apply for a long-stay employment visa (D/AM). 1. A formal job offer and employer-sponsored work permit.
2. Medical certificate, clean criminal record.
3. High-demand sectors include IT, construction, healthcare.
🇮🇹 Italy – Work Visa ❌ Job offer required first. Information focuses on the work visa application process after a job offer is secured. 1. A formal job offer from an Italian employer.
2. Specific requirements are set by the Italian Consulate.

How to Get a Job Offer

Since most options require a job offer first that not only takes time but is a costly option. Therefore we recomend that the Job Seeker Germany Visa (Points based) is the best option to proceed .

Comparing the Costs

The Germany Opportunity Card involves more upfront personal cost, while work visa costs are typically lower but depend on securing employment.

  • Germany Opportunity Card: Main cost is proving financial means (e.g., a blocked account with approximately €13,092 for a one-year stay or 6 months stay), plus the visa fee.

  • Standard Work Visa (Poland, Romania, Italy): Costs are usually lower and include government visa/work permit fees (often €500+) and possible agency service charges.

UK Study Visas & University Admissions: What the Recent UKVI Changes Mean for Pakistani Students

By ZED Global Consultants

In recent months, there has been growing concern among students and parents in Pakistan regarding reports that the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) department is becoming stricter with admissions linked to certain UK universities. Names such as Coventry University, Oxford Brookes University, University of Hertfordshire, BPP University, and a few others have frequently appeared in discussions.

At ZED Global Consultants, we believe it is important to clarify what is actually happening — and more importantly, what realistic and safer options still exist for Pakistani students who wish to study in the UK.

Why Is UKVI Becoming More Strict?

The UK government has introduced tighter compliance requirements for universities that sponsor international students. One of the key changes is stricter monitoring of:

  • Student visa refusal rates

  • Genuine Student (GS) credibility

  • Financial documentation and source of funds

  • Academic progression and course relevance

Universities with higher refusal rates from certain countries, including Pakistan, are now under pressure to protect their sponsorship licenses. As a result, some institutions have:

  • Temporarily paused applications from Pakistan for certain intakes

  • Restricted admissions to selected courses only

  • Increased internal screening before issuing CAS letters

Important note:
These are institution-specific and intake-specific measures, not a blanket ban on Pakistani students.

Does This Mean Pakistani Students Should Avoid the UK?

Absolutely not.

The UK remains one of the top global study destinations, offering:

  • World-class education

  • Shorter degree durations (1-year Master’s)

  • Post-Study Work (Graduate Route)

  • Strong global employability

However, the approach now needs to be quality-focused rather than volume-focused.

At ZED Global Consultants, we guide students toward stronger universities with better compliance records, higher visa success rates, and credible academic pathways.

Universities We Actively Recommend (Higher Credibility)

Russell Group Universities (High Reputation & Strong Compliance)

Russell Group universities are known for research excellence, academic rigor, and better visa outcomes due to their selective admissions.

Some examples we assist students with include:

  • University of Manchester

  • University of Birmingham

  • University of Bristol

  • University of Leeds

  • University of Nottingham

  • Queen Mary University of London

  • University of Southampton

  • University of Sheffield

  • University of York

These universities continue to welcome genuine Pakistani students with strong academic profiles.

Strong Tier-2 / Mid-Range Universities (Carefully Selected)

For students who may not meet Russell Group entry requirements, we also offer carefully vetted Tier-2 universities with stable compliance records, such as:

  • University of Essex

  • University of Reading

  • Northumbria University

  • University of Sussex

  • Aston University

  • University of Hull

  • University of Kent

These options are subject to profile assessment, and we apply only where the student meets academic, financial, and credibility requirements.

Scholarships & Fee Support for Pakistani Students

Despite the stricter environment, scholarship opportunities in the UK are still available, including:

Merit-Based University Scholarships

  • Tuition fee reductions (£2,000–£10,000)

  • Automatic awards based on CGPA

  • Departmental scholarships

Government & External Scholarships

  • Chevening Scholarships (fully funded – competitive)

  • Commonwealth-linked funding (select programs)

ZED Global Consultants assists eligible students with:

  • Scholarship shortlisting

  • Statement of purpose & scholarship essays

  • Deadline tracking and application strategy

How ZED Global Consultants Adds Value

In the current UK study visa climate, proper guidance is more important than ever. We do not believe in “mass filing” or risky applications.

Our approach includes:

✔ Careful profile evaluation
✔ University selection based on visa success trends
✔ Strong Genuine Student (GS) statement drafting
✔ Financial documentation guidance
✔ Interview preparation (where required)
✔ Transparent advice — even if that means recommending alternative destinations

Our Honest Advice to Students & Parents

  • The UK is still open for Pakistani students

  • University selection matters more than ever

  • Strong documentation and intent are critical

  • Scholarships and quality universities are still achievable

At ZED Global Consultants, our goal is not just admissions — it is successful visas and long-term outcomes.

Why are the students from Pakistan choosing European Universitires over the UK?

PK - EU

Since the start of 2025 and global migration through the Study Abroad route, statistics have shown a decline in the admissions to the UK Universities. As as alternate, the students from Pakistan have shown greater interest in the institutes and universities of European Countries.

There are many factors contributing to this switch and we have pointed out a few below.

This also does not mean that UK is no longer a suitable place for higher studies. As a matter of fact, the UK still holds its own place in the global international students ranking as one of the top destinations that welcomes international students from all over the world.

🇵🇰 ➡ 🇪🇺

Why Pakistani Students Choose Europe Over UK

The Great Migration Explained

Source: Immigration white paper to reduce migration and strengthen border | 12 May 2025

UK Government Unveils Sweeping Immigration Reforms to Prioritize Skills and Economic Growth
New White Paper introduces merit-based system with stricter skills thresholds, reduced student visas, and enhanced border controls

LONDON, 12 May 2025 – The Home Office today published Restoring Control over the Immigration System, an 82-page white paper outlining radical reforms to curb record migration levels while attracting high-value talent. The measures mark a decisive shift from reliance on overseas labor to domestic workforce development and targeted global recruitment.

Key Policy Changes

1. Skilled Worker Visa Overhaul

  • Salary thresholds raised, with all “skilled” roles now requiring RQF Level 6 (graduate-level) qualifications

  • Abolition of the Immigration Salary List discount system

  • Sector-specific visas limited to roles with proven long-term shortages, contingent on employer investments in UK worker training

2. Student Visa Tightening

  • Post-study work visas reduced from 2 years to 18 months

  • Stricter oversight of educational sponsors, including recruitment caps for non-compliant institutions

3. Social Care & Low-Skill Roles

  • Ban on new overseas care worker visas (existing visa holders may extend until 2028)

  • Employers required to submit domestic recruitment strategies for shortage occupations

4. Fast-Track for Elite Talent

  • Expanded Global Talent and Innovator Founder visa pathways for STEM, AI, and creative industries

  • Accelerated processing for researchers and high-potential individuals

5. Enforcement & Compliance

  • 10-year minimum for settlement eligibility (doubled from 5 years)

  • Stricter English requirements for all visa categories, including dependents

  • Financial penalties for employers/universities violating sponsorship rules

  • Reformed deportation rules prioritizing violent offenders and asylum system abuse

Economic Rationale

The reforms respond to net migration peaking at 1 million in 2023, which strained housing and public services while depressing wages in key sectors. Notably:

  • Engineering apprenticeships halved as work visas doubled since 2019

  • 40% of recent care hires came via immigration, overshadowing domestic recruitment

“This system rewards contribution, not just presence,” stated Home Secretary Yvette Cooper. “We’re closing backdoor routes while ensuring businesses can access the talent they need to grow.”

Implementation Timeline

  • June 2025: Revised salary thresholds take effect

  • September 2025: Student visa changes enacted

  • 2026-2028: Phased care worker visa phaseout

A full Border Security and Asylum Bill will follow this summer.

How do these changes affect the future of Pakistani Citizens looking to settle in the UK?

The team at ZED Global Consultants and their senior consultant Mr. Zeeshan K. Mughal, have always believed the long term strategy when it comes to immigration and relcoation for better economic means. It is this reason , we strive to offer programs that are merit based and allign with the applicant’s profile perfectly. For instance, if it is a skilled immigration pathway, we will make sure to allign the applicant’s profile to the requirements of the job. This practice ensures very high success ratio!

As for the international students, Mr. Zeeshan, an alumni of the University of Southampton, undersands the importance of a UK Qualification on one’s resume but today it should be backed by the proper career choices and better awareness of the program one is choosing in the UK.

We also believe that the new policy change will allow the existing workforce to achieve their career growths on their merits and in case they are not able to, they will look for other destinations for a better benefit. For the future of applicants from Pakistan, merti based applications take you a long way!

Work visa sponsorship still available for skilled roles.
✅ Longer Citizenship Pathway – Now 5+ years (vs. previous 3-year option).

🔍 Key Considerations

✔ Plan Ahead – Students aiming for permanent settlement should factor in the extended timeline.

Spain: NLV Renewals in Spain: Still 2 Years – Clarified Under the 2025 Reform https://zedglb.com/2025/04/07/spain-nlv-renewals-in-spain-still-2-years-clarified-under-the-2025-reform/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=spain-nlv-renewals-in-spain-still-2-years-clarified-under-the-2025-reform Mon, 07 Apr 2025 09:36:27 +0000 https://zedglb.com/?p=4089 The post Spain: NLV Renewals in Spain: Still 2 Years – Clarified Under the 2025 Reform appeared first on ZED Global Consultants.

Clarifying Spain’s Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) Renewal Rules: What’s Really Changing in 2025?

Recent discussions about Spain’s immigration reforms have caused confusion, particularly regarding the Non-Lucrative Visa (NLV) renewal period. Contrary to some reports, the NLV renewal will not automatically extend to four years starting May 2025. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming changes under Royal Decree 1155/2024.

Key Updates Under RD 1155/2024

Spain’s new immigration reforms aim to modernize procedures for family, training, and work-related permits. However, for non-lucrative residency, the renewal rules remain largely unchanged:

  • Initial residence: 1 year
  • First renewal: 2 years
  • Second renewal: 2 years
  • After 5 years: Eligibility for long-term residence (5-year validity)

The updated Article 64 explicitly states:
“The renewed temporary residence authorization shall have a duration of two years, unless it is time to obtain long-term residence.”

NLV Renewal Requirements (Post-May 2025)

To successfully renew your NLV, you must demonstrate:
✔ Valid NLV status (or apply within the 90-day grace period post-expiry)
✔ Physical presence in Spain for >183 days/year
✔ Financial means (400% IPREM for applicants + 100% per dependent)
✔ Private health insurance coverage
✔ School enrollment for dependent children (if applicable)
✔ Paid renewal fees
✔ No public safety/health risks

Note: Submitting a social integration report (issued by your Autonomous Community) may help if certain criteria aren’t fully met.

Why the Confusion?

The “4-year renewal” misconception likely stems from reforms to other permits (e.g., family/work visas). The NLV’s rules (Articles 61–64) remain distinct and unchanged.

Critical Deadlines

  • Submit renewals 60 days before expiry.
  • Late applications (within 90 days post-expiry) may incur minor penalties.
